Tishya
Tishya’s father and mother belonged to different castes. They fell in
love while working for a company. Tishya was conceived out of wedlock.
The father was a Brahmin and the mother was from the goldsmith caste so
the father refused to marry the mother. She was thrown out of her
village and banned from living there. She has just died of leukemia. As
the child is a girl, the father is not interested in it. Now she is
being cared for by her grandparents who are very poor labourers who
cannot afford to support her.
