Teach
English to deprived children in rural and urban schools in India. From
kindergarten to high school, teachers are heavily in demand. The
opportunities are innumerable.
We encourage you to add what you can to the classroom. We are always
looking for creative and innovative ideas on how to teach on a
shoestring budget.
What are you skills?
Native English speakers are needed to teach children and help teachers
and principals improve their English skills.
Do you have any kindergarten or primary school teaching
experience?
We are looking for new ideas on how to teach through the use of games.
Are you artistic?
You could teach art classes, design and decorate hand-woven
paper handicrafts, or paint a school.
Play any sports? Teach a gym class!
Do you have a green thumb?
Some of the schools grow their own food, you could teach others
what you know about gardening or set up a school kitchen garden.
Have any other skills or ideas?
Let us know what you'd like to teach! We'd love to hear from
you!
Regardless of how you choose to help, P.O.O.R's volunteer programme gives
you a rich experience of the Indian culture and way of life that will
stay with you long after you return home. And your students will never
forget you...
